A senior architect, by the month.

There are three ways we can work together, all of which are billed monthly and paid in advance. Start where you are.

Embedded · Full-Stack

Sliding scale for nonprofits, veterans, and underrepresented or first-time founders.

Multi-month bundles

2-3 months up front · paid in full
Advisory
2 months · $4,500vs. $5,000
3 months · $6,500vs. $7,500
Fractional Engineering
2 months · $18,000vs. $20,000
3 months · $26,000vs. $30,000
Monthly is always paid in advance. A bundle just commits a few months up front for a small saving. Embedded isn't offered as a bundle; it's already a full commitment.

Extra hands

more output, under my direction
One engineer+$8,000 / mo
Two engineers+$15,000 / mo
I can bring vetted intermediate engineers from my bench, real output to my standard, running tasks under my direction.
Most common on Fractional Engineering and Embedded. More than two is quoted to fit.
Overage: work clearly beyond your tier is deferred to next month or quoted as a one-off. If it keeps happening, that's the sign to move up a tier, cheaper for you and more of me.
How the retainer works
A monthly retainer reserves my attention and expertise. The session counts describe a typical week, not a quota. Light weeks don't roll over, busy weeks aren't billed by the minute.
When I work
Pacific time, focused around midday, generally 4 days a week. Async messages answered within one business day, plus a standing weekly sync. I'm not on call evenings or weekends.
How I plug in
Peer, lead, or advisor. I can lead your engineering or work alongside the leadership you have, and help you hire additional talent.
Standard of work
Senior, professional standard. For builds, if something delivered doesn't do what we agreed, tell me within 30 days and I'll fix it.
Who owns the work
You own all the custom work I produce in a paid month, assigned as each month is paid. My reusable libraries, tools, and patterns stay mine, with a perpetual, royalty-free license wherever they live inside your product.
Billing
USD, billed monthly and paid in advance. Each month's fee is due by the 20th of the month before, and the first month is prorated. Sliding scales for non-profits, veterans, and underrepresented or first-time founders.
Pausing and stopping
Either of us can stop with 30 days' notice, no reason required. The current month or purchased bundle is non-refundable. You can also pause for up to a month with notice.
Independent and discreet
I run my own business: own tools, own taxes, and other clients. Your work stays confidential. I only describe it de-identified and abstracted for my work portfolio.
Ready to build together?
Tell me where you are and what you're building. I'll point you at the tier that fits, or tell you up front if I'm not the right one for the job.
